About Us
Guy and Paula Dunbar are very proud to work in the community where they grew up. They have lived in Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island their whole lives. They are both active in local affairs, serving on various boards and volunteering on many Island projects. It gives them great pleasure to introduce people to the area and help them choose and buy property here. They believe it is the best place in the world to live! The Dunbar Real Estate Agency is a member of the Maine Association of Realtors and the state multi-listing system which opens the door to a broad market for both our buyers and sellers. Dunbar Real Estate believes and participates in multi-media advertising to help their clients sell, buy, or rent.
The Dunbar Family
Our family in front of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park
We raised our family in Southwest Harbor, too. Kirstie is our oldest, Hollie's in the middle and our youngest is Lucas. We are a very close knit group. Kirstie ended up finishing her college education in California. She met her husband Dave there and they married and moved back to Maine long enough to have Jack(our oldest grandson) and Leo(our youngest grandson). While they were living in Maine, our daughter Hollie and her husband, Donnie, had our middle grandson, Joshua. At that time all of our kids lived within 1.7 miles from us. It was great! When Leo was almost a year old they moved back to California to the town of El Portal where Dave became the head of trails for Yosemite National Park. So, the rest of the family journeys out to see them as much as possible. Lucas married Sarah in 2003 and had our 1st granddaughter 5/16/2006. This picture was taken 3/25/2006. The first time the California contingent came back to Maine they called on the cell phone when they got to the Kittery Bridge and Jack said with pure joy, "We're in Maine, LaLa! We're in Maine!". You can take the boy out of Maine but you can't take Maine out of the boy!
